Research fellow position

The laboratory of Prof. Pier Giuseppe Pelicci (https://www.research.ieo.it/research-and-technology/principal-investigators/molecular-mechanisms-of-cancer-and-aging/) is currently seeking a highly motivated research fellow in the field of Computational Biology. Among the projects which are being carried out in Pelicci’s Lab, the incumbent will have the opportunity to work on the implementation of new and innovative methodologies for the analysis of Single-Cell Sequencing data, exploiting techniques from Data Analysis, Supervised and Unsupervised Machine Learning, through programming languages such as Python and/or R. 

The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree and have completed (or about to complete) a Master’s Degree in in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or Engineering and related fields. The candidate skill set should include:

  1. Experience in programming languages such as Python, R
  2. Previous experience in the use of HPC platforms
  3. Previous experience on working with the main data analysis Python/R libraries: scikit-learn, numpy, pandas, CARET, mlr etc.

Previous experience in analysing Single-Cell Sequencing data will be considered as a plus.
