Job Description

The Cell Culture Unit (CCU) at IEO is seeking one skilled and motivated candidate to join our team as a Cell Culture Unit Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical support and expertise for routine and specialized cell culture work within the institute. After appropriate training, the successful candidate is expected to meet the responsibilities outlined below



  • Deliver cell culture services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our research community.
  • Provide technical assistance, education, and training in cell culture techniques at Biosafety level 1 and 2.
  • Manage and optimize cell culture processes to ensure high-quality research outcomes and maintain a comprehensive databases for efficient organization and documentation.
  • Assist researchers in setting up gene transfer technologies in primary normal and tumor cells
  • Contribute significantly to improving research activities by participating in technological development for the implementation of new protocols and innovative techniques


Essential requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in molecular biology or a related field of life sciences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Fluency in English – IEO is an international research institute.



Preferred requirements

  • Experience with Cell Culture
  • Transfection/Transduction of cell lines
  • Basic molecular biology techniques
  • Western blotting
  • CRISPR-based techniques
