Data Scientist – Data Science Unit (Ref.2025-08-YZ/31)

The data science unit at the European Institute of Oncology is looking for a motivated and talented data scientist. The successful candidate will join an international and multidisciplinary team. The goal of the Data Science unit is to provide support to internal and external research groups in the context of high-throughput sequencing data and microscopy data. We develop and apply statistical, machine learning methods and predictive models to tackle cutting edge questions in cancer genomics, clinical research and epigenetics. We are looking for a junior data scientist fellow to work on a project supported by Fondazione IEO-MONZINO ETS (FIEO).
The candidate will work on developing machine learning models to extract predictive biomarkers using multiplexed immunofluorescent microscopy data.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in computer science, bioinformatics, physics, mathematics, computational biology or similar.
  • Programming skills in R and/or python.
  • Experience in spatial trascriptomics analysis and image analysis.

 

Nice to have

  • Proficient in Unix system.
  • Experience in classical and deep learning tools (Random Forest, XGBoost, CNN etc.).
