One short-term research fellow position is available in the Laboratory of Pier Giuseppe Pelicci at the Department of Experimental Oncology, IEO, Milan. The fellowship is immediately available; the salary will be commensurate to the experience.
The Group is primarily interested in studying the molecular mechanisms of cancer dissemination, therapy resistance and aging.
The proposed fellowship is involved in a project that aims at unraveling the key determinants of lung metastasis dissemination, focusing on the interaction between immune cells and cancer cells in the lungs and in circulation during metastatic progression, including the effects of viral infections, such as SARS-CoV-2, on the dissemination of dormant breast cancer cells.
Fellows will assist with performing in vivo experiments using syngeneic models and multi-omics approaches, including cutting-edge lineage tracing approaches (Perturb-Seq, macsGESTALT and CaTCH), single-cell transcriptomics and multiparametric flow cytometry.
The laboratory of Prof. Pelicci is located in the Department of Experimental Oncology of the European Institute of Oncology (https://www.ieo.it), a Comprehensive Cancer Center based on state-of-the-art research laboratories and clinical facilities, fully equipped, relying on dedicated and trained personnel (https://www.research.ieo.it).
