The Department of Experimental Oncology of the European Institute of Oncology is looking for Bioinformatic Post-doctoral Fellow.
The successful candidate will join the computational metagenomics laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Nicola Segata.
The position will primarily focus on the "DONATE Study," a research project focused on metagenomics analysis of lyophilized fecal microbial transplantation in patients with recurrent Clostridium difficile infection. The study aims to investigate the engraftment and composition of new microbial communities in the recipients after the transplant and the efficiency of C. difficile infection resolution.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Develop and implement computational pipelines for metagenomics analysis
- Data Analysis and Processing.
- Perform quality control and preprocessing of metagenomic sequencing data
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Educational Background. Master's degree or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, or related field
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, bash/shell scripting)
- Experience with metagenomics analysis tools and pipelines (e.g., MetaPhlAn, HUMAnN)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis methods for microbiome data
The fellowship is immediately available, the salary will be commensurate to the experience.
