I am Tenure Group Leader and Director of the Molecular and Pharmaco-Epidemiology Unit at the Department of Experimental Oncology, European Institute of Oncology (IEO), Milan. I am also Adjunct Professor of Medical Statistics at the University of Milan and a faculty member of the SEMM PhD Programme. I hold a degree in Statistics, an MSc in Biometry from the University of Reading (UK), and a PhD in Cancer Studies from the University of Birmingham (UK).

My research focuses on cancer epidemiology, biostatistics, cancer prevention, molecular epidemiology, lifestyle and environmental risk factors, and the integration of radiomics and artificial intelligence into precision oncology. Over the years, I have led several national and international research projects funded by Horizon Europe, the Italian Ministry of Health, AIRC, and other competitive agencies. I also serve on the Steering Committee of the EORTC Melanoma Group.

I have authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications, including papers in Nature Communications, Nature Medicine, Science Translational Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Lancet Oncology, and JAMA Network Open. My current H-index is 74 (Scopus, July 2026), and I have been included in Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists ranking for both career-long and annual scientific impact.
