Cristina Spinelli obtained the high school diploma as Perito Industriale Capotecnico with specialization in chemistry in 2001 at ITIS S. Cannizzaro in Rho.
In 2002 She start a three years fellowship at the European Institute of Oncology in Experimental Oncology department as technician in Cellular Biology Unit. During this period she acquires the following cellular techniques: maintaining and handling cell cultures , reagents quality control, mycoplasma detection and eradication, gene transfer with different techniques (electroporection, transfection, viral trasduction), limiting dilution for production of specific cell population and clones. Moreover, she acquired basic molecular biology tecnhiques: preparation of plasmidic DNA, isolation of genomic DNA and total RNA, PCR.
She was hired in 2005 and since that she has acquired new techniques: immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry, colony assays and focus assays, migration and invasion assays, authentication of cell lines via Short Tandem Repeat DNA (STR). Throughout her career she has always been working constructively and productively both alone and in a team, by interacting with different professionals having different experiences and backgrounds. Recently she has been actively collaborating with different research groups, working mainly in handling and isolation of primary healthy and tumor cells, differentiating assays, and using cell lines to synthetize grow factors.
She is actually working in Cell Biology unit
